It is one thing to have no control over creating. It is another to market ourselves. But more importantly, behind that are reasons, reasons that are portrayed by choices in aesthetics of works. Everything is subjective in Art because that’s just the way it is; that’s what makes art and artists so blunt and so mysterious.
In the end the goal is to obtain that style, the moment, that epiphany rather than that crowd, but, then again that crowd ultimately links to getting the material paid.
It’s a vicious circle but you learn to appreciate every moment until you get a lucky catch.
